This third book in the Worthington series had some enjoyable twists and turns in the plot and with some of the characters. The issues of class discrimination, the negatives and some positives, were central to the plot.
Celeste Bradley's marvelous character development, clever dialogue and her appreciate of the quirky people in the world put my imagination directly into the book. I feel that I have had dinner at the Worthington's home. I thought the pacing of the book was a tiny bit slow but this book filled in some important
background on the Worthington family which added richness to the book. I love this series and look forward to reading the rest of the books.

I always buy this author and this book is an example of why I usually like her books. The plot was great with a happy ending. The characters and the dialogue were fun. I would recommend this book.
Not quite as gripping as Bradley's first two books in the Worthington series, but still very good. The characters are so well drawn out and quirky, definitely not your typical Regency family. Worth the read.
I almost passed on this book, because as much as I loved the first book - I hated the second book. I am so glad I decided to try this book!
I loved Elektra! She is smart, loyal, fun and just a little wicked. Aaron is almost perfect, he took the blame for something to protect his friend and it cost him everything. He is back in England after 10 years of proving himself worthy to his family only to be blindsided by Elektra!
The path to true love is a very bumpy road for these two and I loved every minute of it!!
The more I read of this family, the more I wonder are they crazy - looney or crazy - brilliant? Perhaps a bit of both!
I saw other reviews didn't like the addition of the secondary characters romance(s) but honestly they were so vague that they really didn't even register to me. After reading the reviews I was expecting those relationships to overwhelm the story and they didn't.
I will agree that the brothers actions were over the top and if I was Aaron I would seriously think twice before marrying into the family!!
After Ms Bradley totally redeemed herself with this book - I will not hesitate pre-ordering the next book!!
Good book. Enjoy
I would give this 2.5 review. The plot just made no sense and therefore the characters were not believable. I love great regencies and normally like this author's works, but this one missed the mark. Too bad, as I think the fictional Worthington family could be interesting.
I struggled between giving Celeste Bradley's story between a 3 and 4 star rating, so I split the difference and opted for 3.5 stars. This tale has some really nice scenes, charmingly funny, romantic, and slightly off kilter in a good way. And it also has some plodding scenes between characters which take away from the story, and characters who need a bigger part and characters who are supposed to be appealing but come off as unlikable.
The heroine of this tale is Elekrta aka Ellie. She a member of a notoriously unconventional family of society misfits. Her mom and dad are dreamers, her brothers are self-absorbed, and her sister is just too precocious. Her one brother Zander, a soldier battling PTSD was the most interesting sibling but he has a very nominal role in this story. She also has a cousin Bliss and she is the catalyst that begins Elektra's adventure. Elektra is waiting for Bliss to arrive at an Inn and there she spies Lord Aaron Arbogast, a very potential husband. Elektra has been on a husband hunt her whole life. She has meticulously strategized how to land a nobleman who will be rich enough to restore her family's burned down estate and give her family the respectability she thinks they deserve and want from the ton.
Aaron has his own reputation to overcome. Banished by his grandfather for a scandal a decade earlier, he hopes his exemplary living in the Bahamas will provide the proper amount of redemption to allow his grandfather to welcome him back to England. His plans fall apart when he is kidnapped by Ellie. To keep her off guard and to protect his own interests he pretends to be his manservant Mr. Henry Hastings.
What begins as a kidnapping becomes so much more. Ellie is headstrong to be sure but she is also loyal and she is anguished also. Her life is a series of filling in for others; she is mother to her younger sibling and in her mind savior of her family. She is certainly a flawed individual but also a very amiable one.
Aaron is noble to the core and instinctively Ellie is aware of his kind and thoughtful nature. He is brave and even more he is open minded. I liked Aaron from the moment the author introduced him. He has a boyish charm and a very well developed sense of humor.
SPOILER... Here's what I did not enjoy in this novel. There are two side romances one with Celeste's dressmaker and his protégé who is a much more intriguing man than his employer (this is the first regency novel I have ever read that had a male dressmaker, every other usually has a female French designer) and the other romance is between Aaron's manservant and a tavern maid. I felt neither story had enough time dedicated to it so it just seemed to be page fillers. Also not nearly enough time was spent on Celeste's relationship with her cousin Bliss. This was an area that needed many more pages allotted to it. I found Bliss to be a winsome individual. Finally I could not stand Ellie's brothers with the exception of Zander. They play judge, juror and punisher without the facts. Quite frankly the lot was so unlikable I have little desire to read their stories. Maybe if apologies to the hero would have been part of the epilogue I might have a differing opinion.
As for the romance between the leads, it goes along rather smoothly with a hiccup here and there to add a little nuance and conflict. There's a little melodrama in the end but I felt that it wasn't too over the top and the romantic nature of this couple is revealed in many scenes. They have a sweet unaffected air around each other that is both lighthearted and passionate. If only there had been more time spent on this couple rather than on unfulfilling side stories and the author trying to make me like everyone in Ellie's family, I would have given this four stars.
I like the way Celeste Bradley writes, her characters are a bit flawed wish to me makes it better, who wants to read a story of perfect people? not me it would give me a complex. I do have to say that I like her previous books a bit more. "With this ring" is the third book in a series of the Worthington's, an eccentric family with a lot of siblings Elektra the heroine is a Worthington and she feels she has to save her very selfish and supposedly loving family enter Aaron the hero who is coming back to London after a 10 year exile. They both have their own goals to be able to achieve their HEA and they don't mesh, but there is instant attraction and that's where all the fun begins. Both Elektra and Aaron are very likable if misunderstood people that seem to think they have to make amends for others failings. The reason I gave it only a 3 1/2 is that for some reason I had a hard time in the beginning of engaging myself with the story, I'm embarrassed to say that once I start a book I finish it in less than 2 days ( I use the text to speech in my kindle) it took me much longer this time. It might be that I don't understand or particularly like her family, I think they are very selfish, specially the parents, there are supposed reasons for it but I don't get it. Don't get me wrong it's not bad, but it's not great, and the ending is just to vague, there are to many loose ends I know it's a continuing series but still, I like a little more HEA in my HEA
